How to add a new record to the area overview table on MyProperty Marketplace

Follow these steps to add a new row to the Area Overview Table in your MyProperty Marketplace account

Marketplace makes it easy to manage and update the content displayed on your website.

Our team will first configure your Marketplace Workspace according to your specific requirements and then add you as a user. To help you understand the structure, we'll upload an example area overview before granting access.

Once you have logged in, you'll be able to add, edit, or remove area overviews whenever needed.

Step 1: Access Your Workspace

  1. Log in to your Marketplace profile.

  2. In the menu on the left-hand side of your dashboard, click Flex Content.

  3. Your Workspace will open.

  4. Click on the Workspace to begin managing your content.



Step 2: Open the Area Overview Table

Once inside your Workspace, you'll see three tabs:

  • Overview

  • Tables

  • Users

To manage area overviews:

  1. Select Tables.

  2. You may see several tables that have been configured for your website.

  3. Locate and select the Area Overview table.

This will open the table where all your area overviews are stored.


Step 3: Add a New Area Overview

Within the Area Overview table:

  1. Select the Records tab.

  2. Click Add Row.

A pop-up window will appear where you can complete the required fields.

Simply fill in the information and click Save when you're done.






Creating the URL

The URL field determines the web address for your area overview.

  1. Standard Areas

Start the URL with:

area-

Follow this with the area name, using lowercase letters and hyphens instead of spaces.

Example:

area-newlands-cape-town

2. Business Parks

For business parks, use the full business park name.

Example:

area-century-city-cape-town

Important

  • Use only lowercase letters.

  • Replace spaces with hyphens.

  • Do not use capital letters.

Correct: area-cape-town

Incorrect: Area-Cape-Town

Business Park Addresses

If you're creating a business park overview, ensure that the street address matches the address used in Base when listings are added.

This is important because Marketplace uses the address to automatically display relevant listings within the overview.


Publishing Your Overview

Once all required fields have been completed and you click Save, your overview will automatically be published to your website.

Please allow up to 30 minutes for the changes to appear online.


Things to Keep in Mind

Type Column

Some Workspaces include a Type column.

If your Workspace contains this field, use:

  • town for suburbs, towns, and city areas

  • street for business parks and street-based overviews


Pasting Content

When copying content from another document into the Body field:

Use:Ctrl + Alt + V

This removes unwanted formatting from the original document and helps keep your website styling consistent.

You can then apply formatting using Marketplace's built-in editing tools.

Images

For the best results:

  • Use high-resolution images.

  • Choose clear, professional photographs.

  • Ensure images are suitable for viewing on both desktop and mobile devices.

Higher-quality images will help your area overviews look polished across all screen sizes.
